A very tiring weekend for mom...

but it was the "best weekend EVER" for Dylan. My baby turned 8 on Friday so we celebrated by letting him invite boys over for a slumber party & then skating the next day. Six invitations went out with the assumption that not all would come but we ended up having 5 additional boys at our house! Talk about noisey & rowdy! They stayed pretty amused playing Wii, legos, & air hockey - I just had to settle them down a few times. Funny thing was- Kalli got along really well too. I had thought she would retreat to her room while they were there but she ended up playing right along with them. Lexi & Riley even came over for a while too. But as much fun as Dylan had, I assured him 5 boys at one time was a one & only time thing. :)

Here's a little funny from the weekend before when Lexi & Riley spent the night.

And a little bit of scrappiness (done on Saturday after all the company left!).

A whole lot of nothing....

is what I've been up to so that's the reason behind my lack of blogging. I think things have just become such a routine, we'd not really taken time for much of anything besides the work/school, dinner, homework, bedtime rotation. Same thing, different day. Plus it doesn't really help that it is just so dang expensive to even go drive somewhere to go do something. I paid $3.12 a gallon the other day - which is absolutely ridiculous! Heck I can remember seeing gas for .99 a gallon!!! Ohhh those were the days!

Despite the outrageous gas prices, Jerry wanted to take a little drive yesterday. It was nice to get out of the house & do something different. Plus I got a few good shoots of Jerry & the kids.

And I did a little scrapping too. Not as much as I would have liked but hey - it's something. And something is better than nothing.

March 20, 2008

Three little girls made their special journey up to heaven - Cristel, Gracy & Gabrielle Miess. You will forever be in our hearts. And as much as it hurts, I know God must have a special plan for you.

This kid cracks me up....

Last night I was messing around in the bathroom & hear this yell "MOOOOMMMM! Dylan knocked out his tooth!" I meet the kids, Dylan's mouth dripping blood but him happy as a lark & Kalli cracking up laughing. Apparently they were goofing around with the video rocker chair & Dylan some how fell & knocked his front tooth out - which wasn't even barely loose!

So the rest of the night I get to see his tooth. Every chance he gets, he has to show me. I'm tucking him into bed last night & he is getting his tooth situated under his pillow & once again says "Mom, you wanna see my tooth?". "No, Dylan I've already seen your tooth a hundred times tonight." Then I hear, "Well you better get a good look because it'll be gone in the morning!"

And he was right! That tooth fairy snatched it right up!

Oh & of course, guess what next week is? School pictures!

Gotta love 'em!

So much I haven't wrote about....

but it just takes so long to type it all out. :)

First of all - I am planning a vacation. A vacation with my bestest buddy, Tiffany, to ride a cruise ship! We're leaving August 31st & will be traveling to Jamaica, Cozumel, & Grand Cayman! How cool is that? Now to just get to that weight I want & a tan. I'm so so excited for that!

Then comes a little scary stuff. Last week I came down with the nasty influenza bug. So miserable but thankfully none of the rest of the family is showing any symptoms. I'm just keeping my fingers & toes crossed that they don't get it. Anyways, as I start feeling a little better from the flu, I noticed a very sore lump in my breast. I really feel like it's my lymph node just going haywire but to be safe I'm getting it checked out in a couple weeks. I'm really kind of nervous about it because although I'm really keeping positive that it's just my body being out of whack, I am super scared of getting a mammogram. Really NOT looking forward to that.

So on to this week. This week will be a short one because Kalli has a follow-up doctor visit on her arm & then Friday I am going to the circus with Dylan. I seriously think I was a bit loopy from being sick when I agreed. I can't stand the circus let alone going with a whole 2nd grade class. I made Dylan happy though so I guess that's all that matters. And I'll try to avoid that puke taste when we get in there & sit through an hour of the circus & all it's stinkiness!

And although my mojo has been gone for quite some time, I finally got some back! Woo hoo! I'm working on a calendar & have 4 pages done! That's progress!

Crappy weekend for teeth...But not so bad for scrapping.

Yeah, teeth - that's right. Actually tooth the be exact - the very front one. Here I am sitting here munching away with my chips & Twizzlers & I feel something stuck to my tooth. I can't rub it off with my tongue so I go to the bathroom to inspect. Low and behold I've chipped my front tooth. So not cool. So totally ruining my weekend - no more smiles, no more going anywhere in public. And I've actually did that. Until tomorrow when I have to go to work, get an appointment & then show everyone when I explain the appt. So so not cool. I wore braces way too long to screw up my teeth now. Urrrgghhhh! So now I have vowed not to eat Twizzlers for a very long time (if ever again)!

Since I did keep myself pretty isolated, I dug out all my scrap stuff & started inking up my fingers. :)

Now I just need to clean up my huge mess. Figure out lunches/clothes for tomorrow. Get Dylan to finally fall asleep. Finish typing the letter to the apartment people. Figure out bank stuff. Put the clothes in the dryer. And then maybe - go to bed.

Fun little weekend...

This has been a pretty nice weekend. Especially nice since we had no school/work Friday & Monday. Woo hoo! And it's not because of the weather - that's even better! Friday me & the went to Springfield to get their pictures taken at Picture People. They turned out really cute so I was happy we went.

Then I did Michelle's mini-album class yesterday & got some scrapbook pages done. Michelle is one talented girl and is the most awesome teacher. Thanks Michelle!

And my mini-album: Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

And I was tagged by Michele so here it goes:

Here are the rules:
1) You have to post the rules before you give your answers.
2) You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name).
3) After you are tagged, you need to update your blog with your middle name and your answers.
4)At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and that they need to read your blog for details.)

And mine should be pretty easy since I only have 3 letters in my middle name. :)
A - Antique lover
N - Never get enough sleep - maybe that's why I'm grouchy :)
N - Need hugs & kisses from kids everyday

I'll tag Em, Mary, & Suzy!

A whole lot of ice....

Is what we got Monday & Tuesday. Like probably around an inch total accumulation. Nasty, scary, slippery stuff. Luckily we cozied it up at the house & didn't even attempt to get out until late Tuesday. Today we started the thaw. The sun came out for a while & melted away a lot - enough to get the kids back in school for one more day (which happens to be party day) before their February break.

Here's just a couple fun shots here at the house:

Bad thing about being cooped up though - is now we have 2 sick. Jerry found out today he has pneumonia (along with his laryngitis) & Kalli has bronchitis. Me & Dylan are threatening to take off to some where warm so we don't get any of the nasty sick stuff.

And a little bit of scrapbooking:

WoOo HOoo!

The Giants won the Super Bowl! Okay so that's not too exciting for me but it definitely put Jerry in a good mood so YEAH! for the Giants!

Yesterday was another fun snow day. The kids played outside and worked on snow men. These were a couple pics from the day that put a smile on my face.

And here's what I've been up to today. Between just a relaxing day & keeping busy during the Super Bowl, I got a few layouts done. I just wish every weekend was this productive.
